Almost every town in the world has it's historic "Wild Side" and Anjeong-ri is no exception. Today Anjeong-ri has become a family friendly town with parks and playgrounds, but years ago it had an area with bars and nightclubs, not uncommon in the days before miilitary bases started offering so many leisure activities for their soldiers. The beginning of this walk takes you past establishments that today welcome couples out for an evening of fun with their friends, but had a totally different reputation 30 years ago. Two historic bars still have their signs up, even though they are closed today, the Top Hat and Duffys. Walking on you will come to an area on your left that contains community gardens. Turn left after passing the gardens, and left again at the next street. The gardens will be on your left as you start back on the loop. Stay on this lane for the rest of the walk. It is a modest street of homes followed by small businesses and passing, appropriately enough after all that wild side viewing, at the large and imposing Church, before returning you to the main street of "The Ville." Remember this street as it has little shops with used appliances, bookshelves, and other affordable items for sale.
